At the Yorkville Institute of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Tong and our staff are proud to provide the highest level of thoughtful, personalized care as our patients achieve their aesthetic goals in a warm and welcoming environment. We believe that loving the way you look is priceless. That said, we also realize that our patients have budgets. In the interest of helping patients make fully educated decisions about their treatment, we have provided this page to serve as a resource about plastic surgery costs and financing options.
Plastic Surgery Financing
To make it possible for our patients to break the cost of their plastic surgery into manageable payments, we work with a number of third-party medical financing companies.
Medicard®
Medicard is offered by iFinance Canada, and is designed to help patients pay for the cost of medical care. Applications have a high rate of approval and competitive interest rates. Furthermore, no down payment is required for Medicard financing and there is no early payment penalty.
Beautifi
Beautifi is another great option for patients who desire to finance the cost of elective medical care. Beautifi offers flexible payment options and the ability for patients to set their own timeline for repayment. Beautify also offers a convenient, fully online experience.
Plastic Surgery Fees
Consultation Fees
The consultation fee for seeing Toronto plastic surgeon Lawrence Tong, MD as a new patient is $175 plus HST. This fee can be paid in full by Visa or MasterCard or e-transfer at the time of booking. Any consultation fees paid are applied to future surgery or procedures performed by Dr. Tong scheduled within 6 months of the consultation, including Botox or fillers.
A valid credit card number (or other form of payment) is required at the time of booking your consultation.
Surgery Fees
Our quotes are broken down to show:
- Surgeon’s fee
- Anesthesia fee
- Operating room fees
- Any additional items such as implants and garments
- Cosmetic surgery procedures are taxable, and HST is collected on the fees
Quotes are good for 6 months from the date of initial consultation
For surgery fee payments, we accept e-transfer, certified cheque, bank draft, third party financing with Medicard and Beautifi and cash.
We require a deposit at the time of booking your surgery. The deposit is needed to secure the operating room, nursing staff, and anesthesia staff necessary for your procedure, on the chosen date. The deposit is typically 50% of the total fees.
We require full payment of the balance of total fees at least 4 weeks in advance of your surgery date. Payments can be made in installments if requested.
Surgery Cancellation Policy
When you book surgery, the operating room, nursing staff and anesthesia staff are reserved on your behalf. These arrangements are made well in advance of surgery. Cancellation incurs operating costs for everyone involved. In order to offset these costs, processing fees may be applied if you decide to cancel your surgery.
If you cancel your surgery date 4 weeks (or more) prior to surgery, you are entitled to a full refund, minus a $1,000 + HST processing fee.
If you cancel your surgery date between 2 and 3 weeks prior, you will be refunded 75% of the total fees, and charged a processing fee of 25% of the total fees.
If you cancel your surgery date between 1 and 2 weeks prior, you will be refunded 50% of the total fees, and charged a processing fee of 50% of the total fees.
If you cancel your surgery date within 1 week of your surgery date, you will be refunded 25% of the total fees, and charged a processing fee of 75% of the total fees.
If you cancel your surgery date within 48 hours of your surgery, you will be charged a processing fee equivalent to 100% of the fees.

Surgery Rescheduling Policy
If you decide to reschedule your surgery there is no charge if you notify us at least 3 weeks prior to your surgery date, otherwise there is an administration fee equivalent to 10% of the total cost of your surgery.
“Touch-up” Surgery Policy
Surgery is not an exact science. In some cases, there is a need for re-operation subsequent to your initial surgery. This is known as touch up or revision surgery. Assessment for revision surgery is not undertaken until at least 6 months and sometimes 12 months after the initial surgery, to allow for full healing to take place. The decision to offer touch up surgery is not automatic, and is at the discretion of Dr. Tong. If you require a ‘touch-up’ procedure, Dr. Tong will waive his surgical fee. The patient however is responsible for paying any OR fees, anesthesia fees, and associated implants or garments (as applicable). This touch up does not include any fat transfer or removal of permanent filler procedures.
